Marshall, MN — The Boards of Directors of Farmward Cooperative and Ag Plus Cooperative, Marshall, MN, are pleased to announce their intent to unify, following board approval from both organizations. This unification brings together two respected cooperatives with shared strengths in agronomy and energy, creating new opportunities for our farmer-owners, employees, and communities.
Both boards completed a focused unification study to evaluate strategic alignment, operational strengths, and long-term member value. After careful consideration, both boards concluded that unifying will best position the cooperatives for future growth, innovation, and continued service excellence.
The unified cooperative will operate under the Farmward Cooperative name and will serve farmer-members across multiple counties in central Minnesota. This unification is not about changing who we are - it’s about building on our collective strengths to deliver more for our patrons and employees.
“This unification is about creating long-term benefits for the people and communities we serve.” said Dave Kadlec, Farmward Cooperative Board President. “Farmward and Ag Plus share deeply rooted values—putting customers first, supporting employees, and keeping our rural communities strong. Together, we can offer more value, more innovation, and more stability, ensuring that both cooperatives continue to thrive for generations to come.”
Instead of major operational changes, this unification focuses on leveraging size and scale to enhance services, expand product offerings, and deliver greater value. By combining resources, the cooperative will be better positioned to innovate, diversify, and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving agricultural marketplace.
“This partnership is about doing what’s best for our members,” stated Eddie De Langhe, Ag Plus Cooperative Board President. “Farmward aligns with Ag Plus in values and geography while also bringing meaningful financial strength. Unifying gives our patrons more stability, more opportunity, and more value for their equity. It’s a smart step forward for our cooperative.”
As we move into the member-vote phase, both cooperatives remain committed to open and transparent communication. Additional details, including producer information roundtable meeting dates, FAQs, voting instructions, and additional background information will be shared as soon as they are finalized.
